India's Lentil Imports Extend Weak Tendency

PANAMA - Mar 28/19 - SNS -- India's imports of lentils in December were well down, plunging versus the previous month, according to data from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics.

Imports reached 10,867 metric tons (MT) during the month, down 49% from the 21,456 MT shipped the previous month. Imports so far total 218,283 MT, compared to 1,124,265 in the same period the last calendar year.

Current trade data showed Canada was most important origin, supplying 7,587 MT for the month. Australia was the second most important shipper shipping 902 MT, followed by Singapore at 861 MT.
