Green Pea Exports From Canada Manage Weak Opening
PANAMA - Mar 27/19 - SNS -- Movement of green peas for Canada were slightly lower, falling versus the previous month in January, data from Statistics Canada reveals.
Shipments during the opening month of the marketing year totalled 28,279 metric tons (MT), down 4% from 29,528 MT the previous month. The data showed export sales was up 34% from the 125,521 MT recorded in the same month last year.
Shipments so far during the current season have been up versus the same six month period during the previous five years. A total of 168,754 MT has been shipped so far, up 26% from an average of 133,509 MT posted the prior five years.
