Confection Sunflower Imports By Spain Open On Weak Tone

PANAMA - Mar 20/19 - SNS -- Are beginning this calendar year with a softer tendency, with confection sunflower imports for Spain posted massive declines, sinking relative to the previous month in January, judging from official data from Eurostat.

Imports for the first month of the calendar year totalled 3,533 metric tons (MT), down 70% from 11,847 MT the previous month. The data showed imports was down 50% from the 7,082 MT reported in the same month last year.

China was the number one exporter, shipping 1,522 MT. United States was the second most important export origin shipping 1,368 MT, followed by Argentina at 548 MT.
