Czech Republic's Oil-type Sunflower Imports Open On Firm Note

PANAMA - Mar 20/19 - SNS -- Are beginning this calendar year with a a firmer tone, with oil-type sunflower imports by Czech Republic made major gains, soaring relative to the previous month in January, judging from statistics from Eurostat.

Imports for the first month of the calendar year totalled 17,482 metric tons (MT), up 97% from 8,859 MT the previous month. The statistics showed imports was up 8% from the 16,184 MT reported during the same month last year.

The biggest export origin throughout the month was Slovakia, selling 10,937 MT. Hungary was the second most important supplier shipping 4,729 MT, followed by Romania at 768 MT.
