Modest Lentil Movement
PANAMA - Mar 15/19 - SNS -- International lentil markets maintained their lackluster tone through the past week, with offers from processors and exporters remaining ahead of the immediate needs of end users.
Spreads between current and new crop markets remain relatively tight for both red and green lentils. However, growers are seeing slightly higher average new crop bids than the average spot market bid for farmers dressed quality delivered processing plants.
Land in green lentils is expected to be down significantly from last year, while red lentil plantings could be little changed.
