Whole Pea Exports From Australia Open On Soft Tone

PANAMA - Mar 7/19 - SNS -- Are beginning this marketing year on a softer tendency, with whole pea exports for Australia posted significant declines, slumping compared to the previous month in January, according to trade statistics from Australia Bureau of Statistics.

Exports during the opening month of the marketing year totalled 3,412 metric tons (MT), down 53% from 7,303 MT the previous month. The statistics showed exports was down 50% from the 39,143 MT recorded for the same month last year.

The most important buyer for the month was Sri Lanka, taking 1,199 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important consumer taking 494 MT, followed by Bangladesh at 477 MT.
