Field Pea Imports From Spain Sustain Firm Tone
PANAMA - Feb 22/19 - SNS -- So far during the calendar year are keeping up a stronger tone, with field pea imports by Spain rocketed relative to the previous month in December, according to the most recent statistics from Eurostat.
Imports reached 59,637 metric tons (MT) in the month, up 192% from the 20,418 MT exported the previous month. Imports so far total 595,518 MT, versus 45,583 in the same period the last calendar year.
The biggest origin for the month was Russia, selling 33,844 MT. Ukraine was the second most important exporter shipping 25,646 MT, followed by Canada at 98 MT.
