Modest Hike in French Pea Exports
PARIS - Feb 13/19 - SNS -- France's field pea exports showed modest improvement in December, though season to date shipments remain well below last year, according to data from Eurostat and Terres Univia.
Export shipments during November totalled 17,855 metric tons (MT), up 3% from the 17,250 MT shipped the previous month, and up 60% from the 11,125 MT shipped the same month last year. Season to date export clearances are down 44% from the previous marketing year.
Belgium was the most important destination, taking 10,410 MT. The United Kingdom was the second most important destination at 4,480 MT, followed by Netherlands at 1,660 and Switzerland at 396 MT.
