Little Change in Mustard

PANAMA - Feb 8/19 - SNS -- Mustard seed markets were little changed during the past week, though moderately surprised by the final USDA production estimate for the crop.

Combined with increased output in Canada, North American mustard seed production is up 39% from last year at almost 207,000 metric tons (MT), with 33,150 MT grown in the United States and 173,700 MT in Canada.

Even so, the available supply of mustard is only up 9% at 267,000 MT. Residual stocks are expected to up from last season because of over production of brown mustard, keeping the stocks to use ratio above 30%.
