December Trade Data Delayed

OTTAWA - Feb 7/19 - SNS -- Release dates for Canadian and U.S. trade data could be affected throughout 2019 because of last month's U.S. government shutdown.

A temporary resolution was reached on January 25, but funding is only in place until February 15. While there are ongoing efforts to reach a compromise budget which the U.S. president will sign, there remains a risk of another shutdown.

The previous shutdown delayed the release of November export data for the United States until this past week. The December data is scheduled to be released on March 6.
