Birdseeds Hold Steady to Firmer
PANAMA - Feb 1/19 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets were relatively steady through the past week, helped by ongoing strength in white proso millet in the United States.
Birdseed sunflower markets finished the week mostly unchanged, while oil type sunflower was mixed, with prices paid to growers easing in some locations, but firming in others.
While inter-dealer markets for white proso millet were relatively steady, the upper range for grower bids continued to advance. They are now sitting in decile eight territory, which means they were lower over 70% of the time since 2007 and higher over 20% of the time.
