AgCanada Expects More Canaryseed
PANAMA - Jan 18/19 - SNS -- In its latest monthly review of Canadian canaryseed Agriculture Canada's market analysis branch in Winnipeg issued its first forecast of seeded area and production for the 2019-20 marketing year. The forecasts are not based on surveys of growers.
It predicts production will total 125,000 MT from 95,000 hectares this year, compared to 118,000 MT from 86,000 hectares last year.
Agriculture Canada forecasts exports will reach 120,000 MT in 2019-20, compared to 125,000 this season and 147000 MT the previous marketing year. Domestic use is forecast at 5,000 MT in the coming marketing year, versus 3,000 MT this season.
