India's Chickpea Exports Reveal Weak Performance

PANAMA2 - Jan 17/19 - SNS -- So far during the calendar year posted a easier month, with chickpea export shipments from India eased relative to the previous month in November, judging from the latest statistics from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics.

Exports totalled 15,342 metric tons (MT) in the month, down 18% from the 18,614 MT shipped the previous month. Export sales so far total 243,797 MT, compared to 82,552 in the same period the previous calendar year.

Current movement data reported Algeria was most important buyer, buying 4,032 MT in the month. Bangladesh was the second most important buyer taking 1,920 MT, followed by United Arab Emirates at 1,126 MT.
