Peas Start 2019 Little Changed

PANAMA - Jan 4/19 - SNS -- Field pea markets started the new calendar year little changed, though relatively strong bulk export movement was reported during the Christmas period.

Good movement combined with seasonal reluctance by many growers to sell at this time of year is helping support both grower bids and export trading levels.

Markets continue to watch seeding progress with India's rabi or winter season crops. The fact it appears to be slowing has helped offset some of the negative impact of the country's decision to extend its effective ban on pea imports until March 31.
