Lentils Steady To Firm

PANAMA - Jan 4/19 - SNS -- International lentil markets were steady to firm in seasonally light trading activity as the new year got underway.

Market attitudes in North America were helped by the fact a bulk shipment of lentils was loaded in Vancouver in December, while stock accumulation from growers suggest more shipments are pending.

Exporters are also reporting relatively good demand from Argentina for all classes of red and green lentils in response to the failure of that country's lentil crop.
