Mustard Starts Year Stronger

PANAMA - Jan 4/19 - SNS -- Born and yellow mustard seed finished the first week of the new year on a strong note, while oriental eased slightly as available supplies from growers moved ahead of the short term needs of processors and exporters.

Brown mustard was surprisingly strong, with prices offered to Canadian growers advancing 4% to finish the week at U.S. $382 per metric ton (MT) for farmers dressed product delivered western Canadian processing plant.

Yellow advanced 1% to finish at $432 MT, while oriental was slightly lower at $308 MT.
