India Extends Pea Restrictions

DELHI - Dec 31/18 - SNS -- The Indian government has extended existing quantitative restrictions on field pea imports until March 31, the end of the country's fiscal year.

The implication is that any importers who bought peas for delivery during the January through March period will no longer be able to bring them into the country.

There had been speculation that imports of chickpeas and lentils would also be restricted, but India's Directorate General of Foreign Trade has not published any notices about those commodities.
