Few Changes in Chickpeas
PANAMA - Dec 21/18 - SNS -- In its latest monthly review of Canadian chickpeas Agriculture Canada's market analysis branch in Winnipeg updated its forecast for the 2018-19 marketing year based on official production and ending stock estimates from Statistics Canada.
It reports production totalled 311,000 MT from 179,000 hectares, compared to 102,000 MT from 68,000 hectares last year.
Agriculture Canada forecasts exports will reach 100,000 MT in 2018-19, compared to 116,000 last season and 108,000 MT the previous marketing year. Domestic use is forecast at 67,000 MT in the coming marketing year, versus 34,000 last season.
