Dry Beans Mixed On Week

PANAMA - Nov 16/18 - SNS -- International pulse markets ended the week on a firmer note, despite modest weakness in markets for some classes of dry edible beans.

This was reflected in the U.S. spot index for beans, which slipped 0.5 points to finish the week at 111.2, with processors and exporters filling short terms needs for movement to domestic buyers and importers in Mexico.

Other major pulse price indices were also generally easier, reflecting relatively strong competition for available demand. The Canadian pulse price index rose 0.6 points to finish at 125.5. The world pulse price index was advanced 1.3 points to close at 135.8.
