Lentil Market Expectations Shifting

PANAMA - Nov 12/18 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week's trading with a weaker undertone against increased competition for available demand and well stocked pipelines.

Reduced demand from India has led to increased efforts by exporters in Russia and other countries to penetrate European and Middle Eastern markets.

This is offsetting the psychological impact of Saskatchewan Agriculture's final crop report of the year, which suggested Canada's harvest may be 1% smaller than initially expected at 2.215 million metric tons (MT).
