Pulse Crops Looks Bigger

REGINA - Oct 25/18 - SNS -- Updated yield estimates from provincial agriculture departments suggest this year's pulse harvest could be 1% larger than forecast by Statistics Canada.

The main difference is in lentils, with unofficial yield estimates pointing to a 2.37 million metric ton (MT) crop, up 6% from the last forecast from Statistics Canada.

Harvesting of most pulses is complete or nearing completion, with the result yield estimates from provincial crop reporters are based on results from more farmers whose crops are in the bin.
