French Pea Exports Remain Slow

PARIS - Oct 11/18 - SNS -- Opening season exports for France's 2018-19 marketing year maintained their slow pace through August, according to data from Eurostat and Terres Univia.

Export shipments during the month totalled 22,415 metric tons (MT), up 31% from the 17,310 MT shipped the previous month, but down 74% from the 87,310 MT shipped the same month last year. Season to date export clearances are down 63% from the previous marketing year.

Belgium was the most important destination, taking 10,970 MT. Norway was the second most important destination at 6,195 MT, followed by Netherlands at 2,350 and Spain at 1,375 MT.
