Beans Firm But Tense

PANAMA - Aug 31/18 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week unchanged to firmer as summer holidays draw to an end in Europe and North America enjoys the last holiday weekend of the summer.

Exporters are awaiting for consumer buyers to get back to their desks and assess their short and medium term needs, hoping this will stimulate a new round of buying.

This was reflected in the U.S. spot index for beans, which gained 2.3 points on the week to finish at 116.7. Other major pulse price indices also finished the week on an firmer tone.
