Birdseeds Remain Mixed
PANAMA - Aug 17/18 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets posted another mixed performance during the past week, with outside market influences continuing to have an impact on some products in the category.
Canadian canaryseed, white proso millet and confection sunflower were unchanged to firmer on the week. By contrast, oil type sunflower markets were somewhat easier.
Discussing sunflower markets, the U.S. based National Sunflower Association (NSA) said, "Sunflower prices ended the week mixed at down 10 cents to up 5 cents and continues to trade below the 60-day moving average at the crush plants. The birdfood market also remains fairly quiet at this time."
