Easier Tone in Dry Beans

PANAMA - Jul 27/18 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets finished the week's trading on a generally easier note in the United States, reflecting concern about the export potential to the European Union because of a 25% retaliatory import duty on kidney and white beans.

This was reflected in the U.S. spot index for beans, which slipped 1.6 points on the week to finish at 119. Other major pulse price indices finished the week on an easier tone.

The Canadian pulse price index fell 2.5 points to finish at 123.7. The world pulse price index slipped 0.3 points on the week to finish at 129.5, supported by worries about the yield potential of Australian crops.
