Mustard Unchanged Despite Jitters

PANAMA - Jul 20/18 - SNS -- Canadian mustard seed markets were unchanged on the week, with the needs of buyers and sellers remaining well balanced.

Stable prices also reflects an underlying concern about the status of the crop in Canada. The first indication this year's yields may be below average came with the release of first cut hay yield estimates for both Alberta and Saskatchewan.

The numbers suggest there is a significant risk this year's yields will be at least 10% below the recent average, which would result in little change in the quantity of all classes of available to markets in the coming season.
