Smaller Apricot Harvest

WASHINGTON - Jul 12/18 - SNS -- The 2018 apricot crop is forecast at 39,800 tons, down 13% from last year, according to the USDA's latest crop production estimates.

In California, some growers reported frost and hail damage. If realized, this year's production will be the lowest on record since 1999. In Washington, growers reported pollination issues due to variable temperatures in February.
