Mixed Week in Chickpeas

PANAMA - Jul 6/18 - SNS -- International chickpea markets recorded a mixed performance during the past week, with th spread between large and medium caliber kabuli chickpeas starting to widen.

Grower bids in both Canada and the United States have dropped significantly since the beginning of May.

Farmers in the United States have seen spot bids for 9mm chickpeas fall 26% to U.S. $705 per metric ton (MT) for farmers dressed quality delivered processing plants. In Canada grower bids are down 19% over the same period at $490 MT.
