Bean Crop in Mostly Good Condition

WASHINGTON - Jul 3/18 - SNS -- Dry edible bean crops in the United States are in mostly good to excellent condition, judging from the latest weekly crop reports from the USDA's state offices.

Roughly 15% of the U.S. crop is now rated in excellent condition, 64% good, 18% fair, and only 2% poor or very poor.

Conditions are among the best in North Dakota, which is also the most important producing state, reflecting improved moisture conditions compared to last year.

Conditions are lowest in Colorado, with 15% of dry edible bean fields rated in very poor conditions, 14% poor, 11% fair, 57% good and 3% excellent.
