WASHINGTON - Jun 29/18 - SNS -- Farmers in the United States planted 1.50 million acres of peanuts, down 20% from 2017 and the lowest planted area since 2014, according to the USDA's seeded area estimates for this year.
Area for harvest is forecast at 1.46 million acres, down 18% from last year. In Georgia, the largest peanut-producing State, planted area is down 16% from 2017.
