Slightly Mixed Week in Birdseeds

PANAMA - Jun 22/18 - SNS -- Trade tensions between the United States and China resulted in a mixed finish for birdseed ingredient markets on the week, with black sunflower markets closing with a slightly easier tone.

By contrast, white proso millet and Canadian canaryseed were unchanged on the week. Available data from Saskatchewan's agriculture department suggests 76% of the canaryseed crop is at a normal stage of development for this time of year, while 19% is behind normal and 5% ahead of normal.

Processors and growers are monitoring field conditions, but their concerns are not yet having an impact on markets.
