Another Mixed Week in Dry Beans

PANAMA - Jun 15/18 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets experienced another week of mixed influences on the supply outlook.

Seeding is nearing completion in the United States, allowing markets to shift their focus to ongoing growing conditions in key producing states. There is underlying optimism about yields because moisture conditions in many areas are looking better than last year.

Even so, the U.S. spot index for beans finished the week marginally higher, rising 0.6 point on the week to finish at 123.3. Other major pulse price indices finished the week mixed. The Canadian pulse price index was slipped 0.2 points to finish at 135.4 while the world pulse price index gained 0.9 points to close at 136.9.
