Birdseeds Hold Firm Tone
PANAMA - Jun 1/18 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets maintained their firm tone through the past week, with offers from growers slipping behind the short term needs of the market.
Confection sunflower and white proso millet values were unchanged on the week in the United States in both grower and inter-dealer market, but black sunflower seed were firmer.
CHS SunPrairie's Kayla Burkhart noted, "Sunflower prices are a bit peppier recently. I think we're finally seeing some strength to the market that I thought should have come in March or April."
