France Sees Better Regional Demand



PARIS - May 11/18 - SNS -- Field pea shippers in France saw a solid increase in demand for peas from neighboring countries during March, according from data available from Eurostat and Terres Univia.

Export shipments during the month totalled 21,236 metric tons (MT), up 59% from the 13,385 MT shipped the previous month, and more than double the 10,405 MT shipped the same month last year. So far this season, export clearances are down 10% from last year at 231,500 MT.

Belgium was the most important destination, taking 11,050 MT. Netherlands was the second most important destination at 5,250 MT, followed by Switzerland at 1,935 MT and Spain at 1,445 MT.
