Bulk Lentil Movement Improves

PANAMA - May 4/18 - SNS -- International lentil markets maintained their weaker tone, with greens affected by new crop seeding prospects and reds by excess stocks.

Preliminary data from the Canadian Grain Commission suggests export movement improved in April, with 40,8000 MT loaded for bulk export, up from 17,900 the previous month and the 33,100 during the same month last year.

The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 5,300 MT of bulk lentils were loaded for export through reporting terminals and primary elevators between April 23 to April 29. Season to date exports now sit at 235,400 MT, compared to the 700,600 MT reported at this time last season.
