Few Changes in Birdseeds

PANAMA - May 4/18 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets were little changed in seasonally light trade during the past week.

White proso millet and canaryseed were relatively steady, with markets looking to see how seeding advances in both Canada and the United States. Limited planting was reported in Saskatchewan during the past week, though progress in most parts of that province will be delayed for at least one week.

Markets in the United States are watching the discussions over trade v¿between China and the United States. Commenting on the situation, the U.S. based National Sunflower Association said, "Some are saying both sides are open to negotiations and comprise. Others are saying the tariffs might just get triggered in May as the two nations are still too far apart."
