U.S. Flax Plantings to Plunge
WASHINGTON - Mar 29/18 - SNS -- Area planted to flaxseed in 2018 is estimated at 225,000 acres, down 78,000 acres, or 26% less than was planted in 2017, according to the USDA's seeding intentions report for 2018.
Acreage in North Dakota, the largest flaxseed-producing State, is down 31% from 2017.
