French Pea Exports Falter
PARIS - Feb 9/18 - SNS -- France's field pea exports were focussed on European destinations in December, resulting in a drop shipment volumes, according from data available from Eurostat and Terres Univia.
Export shipments during the month totalled 11,125 metric tons (MT), down 76% from the 46,480 MT shipped the previous month, but up 543% from the 7,265 MT shipped the same month last year. So far this season, export clearances are down 5% from last year at 184,720 MT.
Belgium was the most important destination, taking 4,520 MT. Netherlands was the second most important destination at 3,370 MT, followed by Switzerland at 1,290 and Italy at 711 MT.
