Mustard Bids Easier

PANAMA - Feb 3/18 - SNS -- Canadian mustard seed markets finished the week on a easier note in both new and old crop delivery positions for growers, suggesting processors are getting good coverage of both their 2018 production contracts and short term shipping needs.

In U.S. dollar terms, spot market values for No 1 Canada yellow mustard lost 7% in value on the week, while grower bids for brown and oriental were unchanged.

In terms of their decile levels, spot yellow and oriental mustard seed bids are at decile seven, compared to decile ten for brown. That means yellow and oriental grower bids have been higher over 20% of time since 2007, while brown bids are at record high levels.
