Record Rabi Pulse Plantings in India
PANAMA - Jan 19/18 - SNS -- International field pea markets were little changed in relatively light trade during the past week.
Markets were not helped by the fact India set a new record for rabi or winter season pulse plantings. As of January 19, land in pulses totalled 16.311 million, compared to 15.576 million at this time last year and the recent average of 14.782 million.
If seeding advances at an average pace through the balance of the planting season, area will reach 16.71 million hectares.
