Underlying Doubt in Lentils
PANAMA - Nov 24/17 - SNS -- Lentils experienced another quiet week, with red lentil processors and exporters worried about the chance India will impose import duties on that crop as well.
Some market participants believe the maximum import duty that India can set without running afoul of the WTO is 30%.
This year's rabi season area for lentils is already over one million hectares, totalling 1.173 million as of November 24, compared to 972,000 at the same time last year.
