Field Pea Markets Stabilize

PANAMA - Nov 17/17 - SNS -- Field pea markets were little changed during the past week, with the immediate impact of India's duty increase on prospective demand accounted for by markets.

The demand outlook is also being negatively influenced by the fact seeding of this year's rabi season pulse crops are advancing at a faster pace than last year, with total area sown so far above the recent average.

Interestingly, while pulse area is up, land in all rabi season crops is lagging the recent average, with some market participants speculating that controls on burning crop residues in fields could be frustrating efforts by farmers to seed crops.
