PANAMA - Sep 18/17 - SNS -- The fair average quality (FAQ) of this year's lentil crop is No 2 Canada, judging from initial quality estimates by crop reporters in Saskatchewan.
They reckon 57% of the crop is No 2 Canada and 37% No 1 Canada, compared to 55% being Extra 3 Canada or lower last season. This is consistent with initial reports from processors.
This is only the second time in the past decade that more than 90% of the crop was rated as No 2 or better.
