Lentils Go On Defensive
PANAMA - Jul 16/17 - SNS -- North American lentil markets finished the week's trading on a defensive posture because of hot and dry conditions over most of the key growing areas.
While grower bids were little changed on the week, new crop price indications rising to match spot markets. Even so, exporters showed little interest in making additional sales of new crop lentils.
Weather forecasts for the coming week indicate there will be no immediate relief from above normal temperatures and below normal precipitation in most areas.
