Peas Remain Firm
PANAMA - Jun 4/17 - SNS -- International field pea markets finished the weeks's trading on a firm note despite slowing export movement.
Seeding of this year's crops is nearing completion in key growing areas in the United States and Canada.
Saskatchewan Agriculture estimated seeding was 95% complete as of May 29. However, many companies believe seeding is no more than 85% to 90% complete in all growing areas. Wet conditions remain a concern, with several market participants believing it will prevent farmers from planting as many field peas and lentils as intended.
