Tight Canaryseed Fundamentals

PANAMA - Apr 23/17 - SNS -- Canada's canaryseed fundamentals once again look tight for the coming year, with farmers in Saskatchewan reporting that they only intend to plant 270,000 acres of the crop, up from 260,000 last year.

Statistics Canada did not report seeding intentions for Manitoba, where at last 10,000 acres of canaryseed is expected to be grown.

A return to average yields would see Canada's official production estimates advance from 133,800 to 136,000 metric tons (MT).
