Market Awaits Seeding Intentions
PANAMA - Apr 15/17 - SNS -- Lentil markets maintained their weaker undertone through the past week against expectations the available supply of product in Canada and the United States could increase in the coming season.
Nearly all lentil production in the United States is green. For their part, Canadian growers are expected to sharply reduce red lentil seedings, but maintain green.
The first objective indication of what farmers plan in Canada comes Friday with the release of Statistics Canada's seeding intentions estimates.
