Weakness Developing in Beans

PANAMA - Apr 2/17 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets were little changed on the week, though a weaker tone is developing in some classes.

This was reflected in the performance of the pulse price indexes. The U.S. spot index for beans eased on the week, slipping 0.1 to 147 points. The index averaged 147.3 points in March, up from 143 during the same month last year.

By contrast, other pulse markets ended their recent down trend. The Canadian pulse price index was unchanged at 183.7, while the world pulse price index rose 1.0 points to finish at 187.3.
