Softness in Lentils

PANAMA - Feb 24/17 - SNS -- International lentil markets continue to show a softer tone, with prices offered to farmers declining on account of slowing trading activity.

Grower deliveries into processing plants and the bulk handling system in Canada along with bulk exports have pulled ahead of last year.

Data from the Canadian Grain Commission suggests that though the tonnage sold by farmers so far this season is up over this time last year, the percentage of the crop sold is down at under half, compared to over half by this time last season.
