Slow Bulk Chickpea Movement
PANAMA - Feb 19/17 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 100 MT of bulk chickpeas were exported through reporting terminals and primary elevators between February 6 to 12. Season to date exports total 1,900 MT, compared to 2,900 MT during the previous marketing year.
Farmers delivered 1,800 MT of chickpeas to primary elevators during the week. This lifts season to date deliveries by farmers to 21,700 MT, compared to 26,400 MT during the same period last season.
Elevators and terminals reported selling 700 MT of chickpeas to domestic buyers during the week. So far this season, sales total 4,900 MT, compared to 2,700 MT during the same period last season.
